As is tradition for E3 Nintendo has the last conference before the doors to E3 are thrown open to the actual show. They’re reportedly taking some extreme steps to keep what games will be in the video a secret by issuing a cease and desist letter to a known leaker. Nintendo really hates leaks with a passion apparently. But it’s time to run down the Nintendo E3 showcase showdown roundup.
To start the show we get a new fighter for Smash Brothers Ultimate and he’s from Dragon Quest the Hero is the latest fighter. He’ll be joining in the summer of 2019 along with a bunch of Dragon Quest stuff like music and at least a Smash level inspired by the series.
Next up is Luigi’s mansion 3 the haunting adventure returns to a haunted hotel that seems to have it out for you. Of course Mario, Peach, and Toad have been captured and it is up to Luigi and Gooigi the goo version of Luigi to help save the day. There is also a multiplayer game mode where you and friends are rushing to clear levels of a tower before time runs out.
A turn based strategy game based on the Jim Henson Dark Crystal series is coming. It looks to be in conjunction with Netflix so it might have connections to the upcoming TV series prequel that they’re doing. It is called Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance Tactics and it will be coming sometime in 2019.
Moving on quickly to The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening to showcase its claymation style animation and goodness. It will be out on September 20th 2019.
Mana is the name of the game or rather many mana’s. Trials of Mana is the much sought after RPG to come to the west and now it will. It is coming in its original form, in the Collection of Mana the trilogy of games, and as a remake, Trials of Mana, fully done up. The remake will be out in 2020, while the original trilogy of games is out now on the Eshop.
For those that have wanted Witcher 3 on Switch, well now it has happened. Geralt returns to explore the world he’s come to know oh so well on other platforms. It is coming some time in 2019.
Moving on once again, to more strategy goodness in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. War looms as former friends must make choices about how strong the bounds of friendship really are. It will be out on July 26th, 2019 for Switch.
If your in the mood for Resident Evil well the Fifth and Sixth game are coming to the Switch console. More zombies and crazy storylines are to be experienced with these games. The two games are planned for a Fall of 2019 release.
Travis Touchdown is getting back into action with a third official No More Heroes game. In a quirky weird teaser, which is par for Travis Touchdown we get to go back to him being a part time hero and just a passing by assassin. All so we can just further his mad weird story that will go even further off the rails. This game is planned for a 2020 release.
Things are getting even weirder with Contra Rogue Corps a top down shooter that has humans, animals, and aliens shooting their way through waves of enemies. It will release on September 24th, 2019. If classic Contra is more your thing then look no further than the Contra Anniversary Collection which might suit you. It’s out now on Switch.
Daemon X Machina has an official release date of September 13th, 2019 for its crazy brand of mech madness.
A remake Panzer Dragoon game is coming this winter of 2019. It looks from the trailer to be a faithful remake that will give hopes to fans that the series can see a revival.
The crazy Astral Chain is up next with a release of August 30, 2019. It tells the the story of two connected characters who are fighting an invasion from another dimension, but things may not be as they appear.
The love affair with the mafia and all that they’ve done never seems to die. So, we get a new mafia inspired game Empire of Sin is a strategy game that has you becoming a mob boss. It’s from Romero Games and Paradox Interactive with a planned release for the spring of 2020.
If you’re into beat’em up brawling action Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is still coming and fast. Take the Marvel heroes on an all out brawl to stop the Black Order and Thanos from gathering the Infinity Stones so that they can’t unleash cosmic madness on the cosmos. It will be released on July 19th, 2019.
Caydence of Hyrule the game set to music and using The Legend of Zelda as a world will soon be out. You need to move to the beat of music to get around and to attack. It’s out on June 13th, 2019.
The Olympics are always a popular crossover time for Sonic and Mario and with the new Olympics right around the corner. It’s time for a new game in what’s titled Mario and Sonic at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games. It will be available sometime in November 2019.
Freaking out fans of Animal Crossing as next on Nintendo’s list of things to do. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the next title. Unfortunately it’s been pushed from 2019 to a 2020 release date with the aim to release it on March 20, 2020. The game is taking a bit more of a survivalist route as you build gear to help you live on a deserted island and then build bigger and better things. In doing so attract other animals to come live there as you make the place better.

It includes: Spyro Reignited Trilogy out on September 3rd, 2019; Hollow Knight: Silksong which is coming soon; Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch out on September 20th, 2019; Minecraft Dungeons a spring 2020 release; The Elder Scrolls: Blades a fall 2019 release; My Friend Pedro which will release soon on June 20th, 2019; DOOM Eternal coming soon; The Sinking City a fall 2019 release; Wolfenstein Youngblood out soon on July 26th, 2019; Dead by Daylight with its September 24th, 2019 release date; Alien Isolation will be coming in 2019; Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition a winter 2019 release; Dragon Quest Builders 2 hitting stores on July 12th, 2019; Stranger Things 3: The Game to be released on July 4th, 2019; Just Dance 2020 coming on November 5th 2019; Board game Catan coming soon on June 20th, 2019; platformer New Super Luckys Tale a fall 2019 release; a late 2019 release for the game Dauntless; of course lastly there’s Super Mario Maker 2 coming on June 28th, 2019.
Banjo and Kazooie are joining the fight in the Fall. That’s right Smash Brothers Ultimate’s third DLC will be all about the heroes from Rare Studios. And of course they have a bit of an amusing introduction some might say a copy of King K. Rool’s intro, but for humors sake it works.
To end things off there is a small teaser for a sequel The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which is in development. It looks like a haunted world where darkness is coming emanating from something that Zelda and Link have found.
Well that’s it for the conferences. Exciting stuff maybe? Or perhaps you though Nintendo brought too many remakes and reboots? Whatever your thoughts are I’d love to hear them down below. I rather liked this conference video event. It didn’t blow my socks off with the wow factor sadly. But, it gave me a lot of games to look forward to with a few interesting surprises. Honestly it might be me being a fan of Nintendo but this was better then most of the conferences.
