Games escaping greenlight to hunt for your votes.

A not so dangerous queue of games has broken free and is rummaging about for your attention and votes. I’m here to corral the ones that catch my interest and attention into a some what manageable list to look at. A quick note that I do not include all of the games looking for votes nor is this a list of must vote for games. As I see it trying to do either of those things is a bit pointless and a waste of everyone’s time.

This list will cover the games of January 14 to 16, 2016.

I do have a few rules to help me narrow down which games I do include:

  • Games must look ready for Greenlight.
  • Reposted games that I have gone over in a previous blog post will not be included.
  • Games must have an understandable English description to allow me to write about and include them.
  • Games must have a trailer to be included.

 

Now welcome the parade of video games:

 

Title: Win That War!

Genre: Strategy, MMO

Art Style: 3D Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: A massive multiplayer strategy game where you’re building an army and battling it out on land and space as you fight it out for supremacy.

Game Play Style: Real time strategic warfare.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I like the visuals a very cartoony look that goes well.

Title: Portal: Revolution

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 3D First Person Perspective

Synopsis: This game takes place shortly after the destruction of GLaDOS in original Portal as you are test taker Kate who now must manuver through the ruins the the testing facility. This game will be free to play for those that own Portal 2.

Game Play Style: First person portal puzzles.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: A solid looking modification of Portal 2.

Title: Startup Company

Genre: Strategy, Simulation

Art Style: 3D Isometric Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: You are the CEO of a new software company, but before you can start up your business you must take a few contracts to get some money then you can launch yourself head on into your company.

Game Play Style: Strategic business management simulation.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It has a cute if some what simple feel to it.

Title: Robo Puzzle Smash

Genre: Puzzle, Arcade, Fighting

Art Style: 3D Voxel Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: This fighting game requires you clear blocks on a puzzle grid so that you can attack your opponent that you’re facing off against. When you match boxes it will allow you to set them off for an attack, but when you rotate the grid and combine more boxes you get bigger combos for more damage. This game is crowd funding on the website Kickstarter.

Game Play Style: Arcade puzzle fighter.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I got a bit lost watching the trailer, but once you get past that it works on some level.

Title: Mall Empire

Genre: Strategy, Simulation

Art Style: 2D World

Synopsis: In this game you are a mall owner, you can build it as high and as long as you like, but you’re objective is to make money out the shops that rent space and the visitors that come to visit.

Game Play Style: Strategic business simulation.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: The visuals are simple, but otherwise the game seems good.

Title: Triton Wing

Genre: Shooter, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Top Down World

Synopsis: A free roam aircraft/ship shooter where you’re blasting your way through enemy after enemy as you explore what the world has to offer.

Game Play Style: Arcade ship shooter.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: A pretty simple and straightforward shooter of a game.

Title: LOR – League of Runners

Genre: Platformer

Art Style: 3D First Person Perspective

Synopsis: This is a free runner where you’re trying to get across the map as fast as possible. This game is crowd funding on the website Indiegogo.

Game Play Style: Fast arcade platforming.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: A perfect looking game for those that love speed running and jumping their way across levels.

Title: Tiny Rails

Genre: Simulation, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Pixel Side Scroller

Synopsis: Your grandfather has handed you the keys to his old train company, it is now up to you to take it from a small frail company to a much larger and better run company.

Game Play Style: Simulation train business management.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I like it, mostly because it has a cute homely feel to it.

Title: Bayou Island

Genre: Point and Click Adventure

Art Style: 2D World

Synopsis: You are an unnamed captain of a ship who has been separated from it and is now on Bayou Island. You figure if you solve the problems plaguing this place maybe you’ll be able to get back to your vessel.

Game Play Style: Point and click puzzles.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It feels a bit nostalgic while looking modern.
