The last blog post of 2016 on the games looking for votes on greenlight 2016 edition.

More video games have managed to get onto Steam Greenlight all with the grand hopes that one day they might be voted through allowing them to be sold on the platform. I’m here to see what interesting games have been posted to let you know what is out there looking for votes.

Now as it goes with these posts I have a few things to write down before I get to the games to talk about them. First off this blog post will cover the games of December 27 to 29. 2016. There is also the point that I do not include all of the games looking for votes and I do not try to make these blog posts out to be some grand list of games that you really most definitely have to vote for! I get that gamers have differing tastes and that it would be rather pointless to just post all of the games. So, you get a taste of what has managed to capture my interest, attention, and managed to pass a set of rules I’ve created.

  • Games must have a trailer to be included.
  • Reposted games that I’ve gone over in a previous blog post will not be included.
  • Games must have an understandable English description for me to include and write about them.
  • To be included games need to look ready for the Greenlight process.

And now here is the latest queue of Games:

Title: Hollow Rhyme

Genre: Horror

Art Style: 2.5D Side Scroller

Synopsis: You play as a sickly boy who is being pursued and must escape them and the night somehow.

Game Play Style: Side scolling puzzle horror.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I find myself a bit frustrated with the art style. IT’s too dark to see or do anything which will make it pretty much a jump scare game. Once you start expecting the jump scares the horror element of the game is completely lost.

Title: Wrongworld

Genre: Survival

Art Style: 3D Low Poly Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: A surrealist survival game where everything looks a bit off and you’re never quite sure of what to expect.

Game Play Style: Building, surviving, and generally trying to live in an odd world.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I don’t think it is for me as it is so far out there.

Title: The Witches Tea Party

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Top Down World

Synopsis: You play as the young witch Charlotte who is invited by her grandmother to a tea party so that she can finally meet other witches. However things go terribly wrong at the party and it’s up to you to figure out why.

Game Play Style: Puzzle adventure.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It does come off a bit like it is aimed for girls as a first impression. So, it doesn’t feel like a game for me.

Title: Lighting End VR

Genre: Strategy, Puzzle

Art Style: 3D First Person Perspective with Virtual Reality Headsets

Synopsis: In this game you’re challenged to play with light by getting it to bounce off of objects to an end planet.

Game Play Style: Strategic light puzzles.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: The trailer isn’t great but the concept does get across.
