A new day, a new queue of games.

It’s a new blog post about the games looking for votes on Steam Greenlight! This time it is for the games of October 28 to 30, 2016.

A few notes and I’ll get to the games. First, this list does not include all of the games up for votes. Second, isn’t meant to be a list of the must vote for games on Greenlight. Everyone has differing tastes when it comes to games and it would defeat the purpose of making such a list if I include all of them. I will give all games a fair chance to leave an impression on me though.

A few rules that help me out:

  • If a game does not have a trailer, it will not be included.
  • A game must look ready for Greenlight for me to include it.
  • Reposted games that I have gone over in a previous blog post will not be included.
  • Games must have understandable English in their descriptions of the game to be included.

 

Here are the latest Games:

 

Title: When They Won’t Stay Dead

Genre: Horror, Simulation, Visual Novel

Art Style: 2D Comic Book Style World

Synopsis: You play as Ken Summers a high school student who is living their life when otherworldly things begin to happen. First your parents die in a terrible accident under mysterious circumstances and then everyone begins to look suspicious. Can you hand it?

Game Play Style: Visual novel point and click.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I do like the comic book/managa art style it is different from the usual visual novel adventure.

Title: Jumponaut

Genre: Platformer, Strategy, Arcade, Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Pixel World

Synopsis: A simple game where you’re jumping from block to block while avoiding the blocks that threaten to fall on your head.

Game Play Style: Strategy platforming with touches of puzzle and an arcady feel.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It is simple, but a nice looking time waster for when you don’t know what else to play and want a challenge.

Title: The Lighthouse

Genre: Puzzle, Horror

Art Style: 3D First Person Perspective

Synopsis: Set in the 1960’s on the coast of Maine near a light house, you play as a detective who must look into a recent disappearance from a cabin on the coast.

Game Play Style: Horror thriller adventure.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: The game has me somewhat intrigued by it.

Title: Black Rose

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Pixel Isometric World

Synopsis: You are a private detective Berry who has lost his way. His only salvation might be the case he gets from a woman who is seeking anyone’s help.

Game Play Style: Point and click style adventure.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It has a very noir style which the developers are going for.

Title: Age of Farming

Genre: Strategy, Simulation

Art Style: 3D Top Down Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: This game is a real time strategy game where you’re managing a farm and it economic status. It isn’t like the game franchise Farming Simulator where you do things yourself. You give your workers commands and they fulfill them.

Game Play Style: Economic real time strategy.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: A very differnt real time strategy game that has some potential.

Title: Butt Sniffin Pugs

Genre: Simulation

Art Style: 2D Pixel Side Scroller

Synopsis: You are a pug in a pug world exploring a city, making friends, decorating your place, and helping out the helpless humans from time to time. This game is crowd funding on the website Kickstarter.

Game Play Style: Pug life simulation?

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: Bizarre odd and weird are what came to mind while watching the trailer.

Title: Hellhunter

Genre: RPG, Puzzle, Horror

Art Style: 3D Isometric Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: You are a freelance paranomarl hunter who is just getting started on your career. You’ll start small and work your way up to hunting down the ultimate paranormal creatures. This game is crowd funding on the website Kickstarter.

Game Play Style: Action horror role playing.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I like it. It has a nice feeling of tension in the trailer and for once I’m not completely bothered by how dark everything is.

Title: Super Skelemania

Genre: Platformer

Art Style: 2D Pixel Side Scroller

Synopsis: The world of Super Skelemania is an odd one as you play as a Skeleton exploring through what it has to offer. There will be plenty of traps and creatures to get in your way though.

Game Play Style: Side scrolling platformer.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It has a very retro look and feel from the trailer.

Title: Gamma Blast

Genre: Shooter, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Pixel Top Down Side Scroller

Synopsis: A bullet hell shooter where you’re concentrating on avoiding bullets and blasting through the waves of enemies to get to the boss on each level so that you can defeat them.

Game Play Style: Arcade spaceship bullet hell shooter.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It is a pretty straight forward bullet hell game. And thankfully the developer changed the trailer music to a much nicer song from the first terrible one.

Title: Crazy Oafish Ultra Blocks: Big Sale

Genre: Shooter

Art Style: 3D Voxel Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: A big huge sale is coming and with it the annoying crowds and long waiting lines. And of course you have had enough after a while so you go on a rampage.

Game Play Style: Rampaging shooter.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: Another fairly odd game, but one where you can let your rage and frustration out on.

Title: Rattletrap Racing

Genre: Racing, Arcade

Art Style: 3D Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: This is a multiplayer racing game where you face off against three other racers. The twist is that you each lay traps around the track before the race sets off resulting in a bit of chaos once you’re going. The game right now is local multiplayer only but will be free to play.

Game Play Style: Arcade racing inspired by the 24 hours of lemon.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It looks goofy and fun, though it is a pity it is only local multiplayer.

Title: Grave Danger

Genre: Platformer, Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Side Scroller

Synopsis: You are in charge of three heroes as they make their way through this wacky world. Use each of their skill sets to help you get through tough puzzles and platforming problems, but also make sure to keep them alive to be able to help you.

Game Play Style: Side scrolling action puzzle platforming.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: The game looks very nice in the trailer but not for me.

Title: Bombfest

Genre: Arcade

Art Style: 3D Low Poly Top Down Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: This is a multiplayer game where you’re trying to bomb your opponent in a tight small arena. It’s a four player battle with a variety of bombs and stages to keep you playing.

Game Play Style: Arcade multiplayer bombing.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: A bit odd yet fun looking.

Title: Adventuring gentleman

Genre: Platformer, Shooter

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn Side Scroller

Synopsis: This rogue-like shooter is all about a rather honest chap who goes on adventures that his local gentleman’s club members offer to him.

Game Play Style: Steampunk side scrolling platforming shooter.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: I don’t know that I ever managed to grasp what was going on in the trailer.

Title: Golf It!

Genre: Sports

Art Style: 3D World

Synopsis: A mini-golf game designed around multiplayer and creative courses to keep things entertaing and fun.

Game Play Style: Mini-golf sports.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: The trailer though it doesn’t show much game play looks amazing.

Title: Detective Gallo

Genre: Point and Click Adventure

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn World

Synopsis: In this city a horrific multi-plant murder has gone down. Nothing like that would even shock the city anymore, except when the Multi-Billionaire is willing to put up a lot of money to make sure the case gets solved. You are Detective Gallo who has been brought in to solve this terrible crime.

Game Play Style: Point and click adventure.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It looks like a rather interesting sort of noir crime story.

Title: Motorball Derby

Genre: Racing, Sports

Art Style: 3D Low Poly Third Person Perspective

Synopsis: A multiplayer car game where you’re racing around an arena trying to get a ball into your opponents net while keeping it out of yours.

Game Play Style: Arcade racing sports game.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It will draw comparisons to Rocket League as it looks like a low resolution version without the rocket jumps blasting you across the arena. That isn’t entirely a bad thing, but it does need something to really separate itself from that game.

Title: Rewinder

Genre: Adventure

Art Style: 2D Top Down Pixel World

Synopsis: In the year 2033 you are the leader of a resistance group against a totalitarian government, which you attempt a coup against. When the coup fails it looks like you’ve taken your final breath on the planet but strangely you find yourself thrown back to the year 1633. Now you can change the past to change the future to see what happens and maybe stop the awful government from coming to power.

Game Play Style: Strategic adventure.

Thoughts/Opinion of the Game: It isn’t a pretty game, but the concept sounds cool and intriguing.
