Ending the first month of 2016 with a new queue of games wanting votes.

It’s time for a Sunday stroll of Greenlight games picking our way through the ones that caught my attention. This post is for January 29 to 31, 2016 and the games posted to Greenlight for those dates, or any caught in my queue from before then.

This post is created using my opinion on what draws my attention. Thus, some games worth talking about might not get a mention, though I try to give every game a fair chance. You should still check out all the games on Greenlight to see what I missed out on. Also this post may be out of date by the time you read it as games come and go quickly from the voting process.

Rules:

  • Games must have – A trailer, and an English Translation.
  • Games should and must look ready for Greenlight.
  • Reposted games that I’ve previously talked about will not be included.

Oh look here come the Games:

Title: Balls! The Game

Genre: Arcade

Art Style: 3D Top Down Arena

Synopsis: A multiplayer game where you face off against an opponent rolling your ball around a tiny space while trying to get your fellow player to fall off of the level.

Opinion: It does look simplistic so I don’t know how long this type game will have a player base for.

Trailer:

Title: Bloody Chronicles – New Cycle of Death

Genre: Visual Novel

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn

Synopsis: Kazuki has graduated from the police academy but recruited by a civilian agency that works on solving the crimes that police cannot. You join him as he works through this unit and finds out about his crazy co-workers.

Title: MTB Downhill Simulator

Genre: Racing, Simulation, Sports

Art Style: 3D World

Synopsis: Race mountain bikes down tough paths with tricky terrain and turns to push you to your limits.

Opinion: This is probably just me, but seeing the bike handle bars in the trailer often made me think that it looks more like a Pogo stick than bike handle bars.

Trailer:

Title: One way to exit

Genre: Puzzle, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: Guide a ball through the tight twisty levels and past the red lines which will instantly kill you.

Opinion: It is simple, but perhaps that’s what people like about it.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Skyship Aurora

Genre: RPG, Arcade

Art Style: 3D World with some 2D Elements

Synopsis: A spaceship adventure where you jump through time where you fight it out with other spaceships, encounter traders or salvageable ships, or text based quest adventures. Be careful as you only have a limited number of jumps that you’re capable of and if you run out, well you have to start again.

Opinion: The trailer is pretty amusing.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: SpellKnights

Genre: Shooter, Sports

Art Style: 3D Third Person World

Synopsis: A multiplayer game where you battle it out with magic and swords against other players.

Opinion: It does look a bit rough at the moment like it still needs some fine tuning.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Robot Legions Reborn

Genre: Shooter, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Pixel Top Down World

Synopsis: You are the single rogue robot on a planet overrun by them. You decide to fight back against the masses of robots who are not happy about your choice.

Opinion: A simple game, but fun if you just want to blast away at various enemies in a mindless setting.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: An Octonaut Odyssey

Genre: Platfomer

Art Style: 2D Side Scroller

Synopsis: You play as Octo an octopus with amnesia who has crashed to a planet from a spaceship. You’re free to explore the odd and vivid world that unfolds around you.

Opinion: It is a very visually stunning looking game, a mixture of odd with beauty.

Trailer:

Title: Dujanah

Genre: Puzzle, Adventure

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: Explore many different time periods that have political unrest, moral decisions, and psychological situations. It’s up to you to explore and find the right answers. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Opinion: The concept is good, but I don’t really get a feeling on how the game is going to play out.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Tiki Brawl

Genre: Arcade

Art Style: 2D Pixel Top Down World

Synopsis: A multiplayer game where you are trying to throw the other Tiki players into a fiery pit to feed your god and come out on top.

Opinion: A fast paced multiplayer only game that might only be good for a couple of play through.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Sea Breakout

Genre: Arcade

Art Style: 3D World

Synopsis: A breakout inspired arcade game with an ocean theme that’s meant to be simple and fun.

Opinion: The camera angle in the trailer was really messing with my perspective, I couldn’t get used to it.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Space Merchants: Days of Glory

Genre: RPG, Shooter

Art Style: 3D World

Synopsis: In this game you play as a merchant in space, going out getting goods and occasionally fighting off raiders who want what you have.

Opinion: The trailer does seem very cluttered with information at times.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: POLYWAR

Genre: Shooter

Art Style: 3D First Person Low Poly World

Synopsis: A multiplayer shooter with low poly graphics and fast furious action to keep you playing. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Opinion: It isn’t for me.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Mutropolis

Genre: Point and Click Adventure

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn World

Synopsis: In the 23rd Century humans have made the move from Earth to Mars because of issues with Earth. Earth however would not be forgotten and has recovered enough for humans to once again visit and find out about their lost past. You lead one such team of archaeologists but you are in search of the city of Metropolis which if reasoned to have everything, the downside is there is another team looking for it and they might kill to get there first.

Opinion: It has a cute art style that reminds me a bit of the game Broken Age.

Trailer:

Title: Link

Genre: Strategy, RPG

Art Style: 2D Top Down World

Synopsis: Your ships have all gone down at the same time with few survivoor from the crash on an icy alien planet. Now you must build and survive as well as you can so that the alien creatures don’t take you out.

Opinion: It appears to be a pretty solid concept.

Trailer:

Title: YEARN

Genre: Strategy, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Isometric

Synopsis: A multipayer strategy game where you take control of one of four heroes/tyrants and use them to summon soldiers and weapons to take out your opponents using brilliant strategies that your dream up.
