A parade of Greenlight games for Thanksgiving.

It’s a Thanksgiving day post about the games looking for votes on Steam Greenlight.

With these blog posts I like to go over what shapes them and tells you why I may not include or why I include games. This post is for November 24 to 26, 2015. It should be noted that this list is created from my opinion, and as such games that are worth a look might not get a mention. I try hard to give every game a fair chance, but something about the game has to make me think about listing it. There is also the problem where games come and go quickly from Greenlight, whether voted through or removed by the owners, so this post may be out of date by the time you read it.

A few hard fast rules:

  • Games must have an English translation.
  • Games must look ready for Greenlight.
  • Games must have a trailer.
  • And finally, games reposted to Greenlight that I’ve previosuly talked about will not be included.

 

Now the part you probably skipped to, the Games:

 

 

Title: Ghost Parade

Genre: RPG, Platformer

Art Style: 2D Hnad Drawn Side Scroller

Synopsis: A young girl has to walk home from school as night is about to fall and through a dark forest. There is also a dark creature lurking in the woods waiting for someone to come by.

Opinion: I like the art, it has a creepy surrealist vibe to it.

Title: Mindball Play

Genre: Racing, Arcade

Art Style: 3D Third Person Arena

Synopsis: Roll a ball through obstacles as you race against an opponent through complex stages.

Opinion: It isn’t for me.

Title: Machine Gun Train Run

Genre: Shooter, Platformer, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn Side Scroller

Synopsis: In 2033 magnateic high rise trains run across the globe, but the A.S.S.H.A.T. organization is running around hijacking them. It’s up to you to stop them.

Opinion: I’m not a fan of the art, it doesn’t look good to me.

Title: Nova Nukers!

Genre: Shooter, Brawler

Art Style: 3D Third Person Perspective World

Synopsis: A local mulitplayer brawler/shooter where you battle your friends on a small planet.

Opinion: It looks like a blast with friends.

Title: Parasite

Genre: Platformer, Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Pixel Side Scroller

Synopsis: A non-linear game where you play as an alien worm working to get rid of the human colony that has popped up on your planet.

Opinion: I didn’t feel sold on the game from the trailer, though it is an interesting concept.

Title: Dance of Death

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Screens

Synopsis: A young man by the name of Luciano Folgeri has gone missing from his Venetian orphanage and its up to you to discover whats going on. Stay in an old Venetian mansion facing your fears of old curses and the dance of death.

Opinion: A game with potential for those that like hidden object games.

Title: Goocublets: The Algoorithm

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 3D Isometric World

Synopsis:  You must maneuver cubes of goo through levels to get them to be on the right block.

Opinion:  A simple but challenging looking game.

Title: DinoOps

Genre: Shooter, RPG

Art Style: 2D Pixel Top Down

Synopsis: Survive the swarms of dinosaurs as they come to try and wreck your day. Defend yourself and others with whatever guns you can get. This game will be free to play.

Opinion: It doesn’t look all that great.

Title: Neon Chrome

Genre: Shooter, RPG

Art Style: 3D Top Down World

Synopsis: The world is a violent place where cyber-punk rules and death will happen. You either kill and destroy everything including the Overseer or die. Just remember every death is a new beginning.

Opinion: The look and feel of it from the trailer feels well put together and just right.

Title: Tidal Tribe

Genre: Simulation

Art Style: 3D First Person World

Synopsis: In this game you only control the level of terrain, you can raise or lower it as you want, but the object is to get the world to grow. To do that you must create rivers and lakes to feed the Eco-system from the tidal shores where you start.

Opinion: It looks very calm, but could be fun to play around with and experiment.

Title: Super Helmets on Fire DX Ultra Edition Plus Alpha

Genre: Platformer, RPG

Art Style: 2D Pixel Side Scroller

Synopsis: A simple construction worker sets out to save the world. A powerful ancient evil god has awoken and sends you the simple construction worker to save your co-workers and the world.

Opinion: A ridiculous title for a silly looking game.

Title: Age of Gladiators

Genre: Strategy, Simulation, RPG

Art Style: 2D Screens

Synopsis: You are the manager of gladiators who fight in ancient Rome. Send out your scouts to get the talented fighters to fight for you as you try to become the best manager and then for a chance to fight in the grand arena in Rome.

Opinion: An interesting idea.

Title: Sixtieth Kilometer

Genre: Visual Novel, Horror

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn

Synopsis: You are aboard a train when it comes to a sudden stop and a pink fog quickly surrounds them. When one man leaves the train he quickly dies outside, and you suddenly find yourself locked in.

Opinion: I’m not feeling this game. It isn’t for me.

Title: Deliver us the Moon

Genre: Puzzle, Simulation

Art Style: 3D Third Person World

Synopsis: In the year 2069 mankind is in danger of extinction because resources are so thin. Thus you’ve been sent to the moon to save the world.

Opinion: I feel like the game has potential, but it isn’t for me.

Title: World’s Dawn

Genre: Simulation

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: Inspired by games like Harvest Moon, it is a life sim where you grow crops, tend to farm animals, and live life in a sleepy little village.

Opinion: It looks like a cute game.

Title: Stick Maze

Genre: Puzzle, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: You must move a spinning stick through challenging levels that ask you to think how best to get a stick through a tight space.

Opinion: Could be fun as long as the challenge is there.

Title: AdventureQuest 3D

Genre: MMO, RPG

Art Style: 3D Third Person World

Synopsis: A free to play game from the makers of the 2D AdventureQuest games but this time taking it to a bigger and badder world filled with other players. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Opinion: Seems like it could be fun, I would like to see more gameplay in the trailer though.

Title: Discovery Online

Genre: MMO, RPG

Art Style: 2D Isometric World

Synopsis: The world was ripped apart by an ancestral war between light and shadow with only the continent above the clouds remaining. Now thousands of years have passed and you are out to explore the lost past that lies below.

Opinion: Visual it looks very nice, perhaps not for me but overall it seems solid.

Title: AI: Rampage

Genre: Strategy, Simulation

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: Robot’s with AI have overrun earth and taken it for themselves. You one of the remaining humans, are willing to fight back and reclaim the land.

Opinion: The camera seems really zoomed out in the trailer. It just seems to far off for me.

Title: Death Stair

Genre: Arcade

Art Style: 3D Third Person World

Synopsis: You and your friends must attempt to climb stairs while getting in each other’s way and generally causing mayhem once you get to the top.

Opinion: I’m not impressed by this game.

Title: Nordenfelt

Genre: Shooter, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Horizontal Scroller

Synopsis: A game with steam-punk and alternate history. You are a pilot who must shoot down the mechanical behemoths invading your country.

Opinion: For a sort of bullet hell style game, it doesn’t look terribly hard to dodge some of the bullets from the trailer.

Title: Love is Blind: Mutants

Genre: Strategy, Puzzle

Art Style: 3D Low Poly World

Synopsis: A stealth game based around using mutant powers to get around. Your partner has been taken away by the military for some unknown reason and you want to get them back.

Opinion: I like the visual look of the game, and overall it has potential.
