A new Greenlight voting queue led by “This is the Police”

Welcome to a new queue of looking through the games posted to Steam Greenlight looking for votes. This post is a quick look through the games and doesn’t go in-depth. I recommend visiting Steam Greenlight to checkout the games yourself.

A few other things to go through. This list is for games posted between October 4 to 5, 2015. There are games that won’t make this list because it’s made entirely from my opinion. I try to make sure it doesn’t happen, but it will happen.

A few rules:

  • A game should have an English translation.
  • Games should have a trailer.
  • Games should look ready for Greenlight and should not look like a joke submission.
  • Games reposted to Greenlight that I’ve talked about in previous posts, will not be included.

And now the Games:

Title: Divergence Online

Genre: MMO, RPG

Art Style: 3D Open World

Synopsis: A spiritual successor to Star Wars Galaxies but now with the options that Galaxies didn’t offer. Most importantly depth in characters and choices. This game is crowd funding on Indiegogo.

Opinion: It looks like a pretty standard massive multiplayer online RPG.

Trailer:

Title: Fat Mask

Genre: Platformer, Arcade, Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Arena

Synopsis: Facing off against other players or AI, you must use blocks to build up your monsters creature to help you score points. They can be both a help and a curse as players fight it out. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Opinion: It looks pretty quirky.

Trailer:

Title: Anxiety Attack

Genre: Horror, Simulation

Art Style: 3D First Person World

Synopsis: You’re in a beautiful wooded grassy area, free to explore to your hearts content. But things begin to get difficult. Walking, breathing, and looking are harder and harder to do. Anxiety sets in. Can you survive?

Opinion: The problem I had with the trailer is the raspiness of when things get difficult. It made it sound like the character was breathing through an oxygen tank used for scuba diving.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Defenders

Genre: Platformer

Art Style: 2D Side Scroller

Synopsis: This is an adventure that takes place with two different characters and two different story lines. It takes place in the lands of Faria, where you must swing your sword and use your bow to get through the wild lands.

Opinion: I like the visuals and think the game has some potential.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Intense Wizardry

Genre: Shooter, Arcader

Art Style: 2D Top Down World

Synopsis: A top down shooter where magic rules alongside giant hard bosses in this rogue-like game.

Opinion: The art is interesting, perhaps needing a bit more tweaking but otherwise and interesting project.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Totally Unbalanced

Genre: Puzzle, Platformer

Art Style: 3D World

Synopsis: Using balance to keep yourself on platforms, you must move from small platform to platorm to get to the end of the level.

Opinion: The visuals look a little bland, but it reminds me a touch of Super Monkey Ball.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: This is the Police

Genre: Strategy, Simulation

Art Style: 2D Low Poly World

Synopsis: You play as police chief Jack Boyd, who must turn his city into a better place. There’s plenty of corruption, political intrigue and crime to get lost in. You must manage your police force to make the city safe to live in. This game successfully crowd funded on Kickstarter.

Opinion: I love the look and everything about this game. Can’t wait for it.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Warfront Defenders

Genre: Strategy, Arcade

Art Style: 3D Isometric Map

Synopsis: You and your troops must defend a plot of land from incoming enemies. Direct your soldiers where to shoot and set up the defenses the best you can.

Opinion: It has some potential but also looks a bit repetitive in the trailer.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Demetrios – The BIG Cynical Adventure

Genre: Point and Click Adventure

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn

Synopsis: A point and click adventure where you can do more than just talk to people and solve puzzles. You can mess around a bit with the world and play mini-games. It’s a bit tongue and cheek with its sense of humor. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Opinion: It looks like it could be a silly game to play, which is probably a pretty obvious observation.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Mazement

Opinion: Not a fan.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Dude, Stop

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Screens

Synopsis: A puzzle game that changes everything. You must do everything in your power to make everyone hate you by doing the wrong thing.

Opinion: My main concern is that there is really only one thing to do per level and that would get boring.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Pertinence

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Minimalist Top Down

Synopsis: A minimalist adventure where you’re free to explore levels and collect the alloys there. You use these to open new areas to explore.

Opinion: A curiously interesting game that I’m not completely sure of what to make of it.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Opinion: It looks cute.

Trailer:

Title: Continue

Genre: Arcade

Art Style: 2.5D Top Down

Synopsis: Guide your cube through the twist and turns of ninety degree angles. It starts off simple and slow, but quickly things begin to speed up.

Opinion: I feel like if I stared too long at this game it would begin to hurt my eyes.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Gyrodisc Super League

Genre: Sports, Arcade

Art Style: 2.5D Top Down Arena

Hey, thank you so much for mentioning my game Demetrios!

It’s doing great so far on Kickstarter, but I could use more votes on Greenlight 🙂
