A platforming bonanza of games looking for votes on Steam Greenlight.

A new Greenlight queue of games to celebrate slightly getting over a cold. Now, this listing is for games posted between September 25 to 27, 2015. The games are put in no particular order. This post is made entirely of my opinion, as a result some game worth mention may be left off. I try not to let that happen.

A few rules:

  • Games reposted to Greenlight that I’ve previously talked about will not be included.
  • Games must have an English translation.
  • Games must look ready for Greenlight and should not look like joke submissions.
  • Games must have a trailer.

Now the Games:

Title: Lonath Online

Genre: MMO, RPG, Strategy

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: The main objective is to grow your character into a stronger creatures, while building a home, making friends, fighting predators and other players to survive.

Title: Revolve

Genre: Platformer

Art Style: 2D Side Scroller

Synopsis: You control a drone though not directly, you have four options for what to do with it. You can use a speed boost, a jump if you have enough energy, brake, or switch gravity as you work your way through space junk to the end of a level.

Opinion: An interesting concept, the levels will have to have quite a bit of variety to keep players playing.

Trailer:

Title: Of Carrots and Blood

Genre: Shooter, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Pixel Top Down Arena

Synopsis: An arena survival game that goes back to basics. Shoot and kill.

Opinion: The trailer did nothing to sell me on the game.

Synopsis: You take on the role of either Monstro a giant creature who is out to complete a series of rituals or the Cargonauts who are out to stop the monster. Both duel away trying to put a stop to one another. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Title: Painted Fighter

Genre: Fighting

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn Fighters

Synopsis: Fight it out in a one versus one battle.

Title: Otem’s Defiance

Genre: Platformer, Arcade

Art Style: 3D World

Art Style: 2D Side Scroller

Synopsis: A cave in has separated Simon from his equipment. Now with only the lamp on his hat, he must work his way through the levels to get out.

Title: Milky Mike

Genre: Platformer

Art Style: 2D Arena

Synopsis: Mike the hero of the game must deal with an evil genius, one who can divide levels, turn them on their sides, and rotate them as the evil dude pleases. It’s a lot to put up with to save the day.

Opinion: The game has some potential, though the camera seems way too far out from the action.

Trailer:

(Greenlight Page)

Title: Indie Game Battle

Genre: Fighting

Art Style: 3D Arena

Synopsis: Fight with indie game characters against one another to see who is the best.

Opinion: The stages right now look a bit bland, and it feels like the game really needs something to separate itself from being a Super Smash Brothers clone.
