July 18 to 20, 2015 Greenlight Voting Queue. Super Black and XO are a few of the interesting games.

We’re back to crawl through another queue of Greenlight games looking for votes. This post goes over the games posted for July 18 to 20, 2015.

There are some rules for the games that I post on this list.

  • Games must have a trailer.
  • Games cannot look like joke submissions.
  • A game must look ready for Greenlight in order for me to list it.
  • If the game does not have an English translation on their page, I can’t post about it.
  • Finally, games that have been previously talked about will not be included.

Well, let’s get on to the Games:

Title: RUiN

Genre: Strategy

Art Style: 3D Top Down

Synopsis: Inspired by and an evolution of the Warcaft mod “Warlock”. Take out the farming of minions, add lots of abilities and you get fast intense action. This game will be free to play.

Opinion: To me it sounds like a MOBA game without the many MOBA elements, instead going for pure player vs player action.

Trailer:

Title: Gunslingers

Genre: RPG, MMO

Art Style: 2D Isometric

Synopsis: You play as one of five classes, in this turn based strategy MMO. Become the best mercenary out in the wild. This game will be free to play.

Opinion: It has the feel of an X-Com game, with a sort of wild west setting. Looks good.

Trailer:

Title: Showtime 2073

Genre: FPS, Shooter

Art Style: 3D FPS with a touch of neon

Synopsis: In 2073 those that are homeless or break the law have their brains reconfigured. You have been caught up in protest and given an option, enter a game show to fight for your freedom or become one of the many reconfigured brains that do menial work.

Opinion: The trailer is a bit hard to follow with the grey ripples across the screen. Otherwise an interesting concept.

Trailer:

Title: Game of Dragons

Genre: RPG, Strategy, Card Game

Art Style: 3D Isometric

Synopsis: This is a card game based RPG, you use your deck of cards to help you fight baddies across the world and create your story along the way. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Opinion: I do like the map layout with hexagonal movement and world. Other than that though, nothing sparks my interest.

Trailer:

Title: Bots Boom Bang

Genre: Puzzle

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: You job is to get robots to run into its correct target. A job that is easier said than done when the bot can only move in a straight line.

Opinion: It is a port from mobile platforms, which turns off voters. It also doesn’t stand out much from other games that have the same premise.

Trailer:

Title: AIPD

Genre: Shooter, Arcade

Art Style: 2D Top Down With Bright Colors!

Synopsis: You must enter the world of artificial intelligence and fight to keep things under control.

Opinion: It is a very beautiful twin stick shooter with a lot of gameplay to play with. Might need a seizure warning if the game gets anymore intense though.

Trailer:

Title: Undead Darlings – No Cure for Love

Genre: Visual Novel

Art Style: 2D Hand Drawn

Synopsis: You have been eaten by zombie girls. Congrats! Or not, because you’ll also have to do some dungeon crawling to get the girls on your side. This game has a few days left on its crowd funding via Kickstarter.

Opinion: The fact that its combining the genres visual novel with a dungeon crawling rpg is pretty interesting. It looks like it could be good.

Trailer:

Title: XO

Genre: Strategy, Simulation

Art Style: 3D with 2D Low Polygon

Synopsis: With a ragtag fleet of starships you’re continually assigned hard missions against impossible odds. Things aren’t going to be easy, you’ll have to get resources for your fleet and command them in battle. This game is crowd funding on Kickstarter.

Opinion: The game has a very old school, very 70’s graphics look to it with grid squares and so on. I think its a great project.

Trailer:

Title: Zenohell

Genre: Shooter, Shoot’em up

Art Style: 2D Vertical Scroller

Synopsis: Shoot alien ships while avoiding the bullet hell of bullets coming at you.

Opinion: The music in the trailer is awful in my opinion, and I wasn’t really feeling the game either.

Trailer:

Title: Sons of the Five Nations

Genre: RPG

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: You cannot be the one man army you are in most RPG’s. No instead you must rely on your companions to help you out and cover for your weaknesses.

Opinion: Nothing about the story on the Greenlight page and few RPG’s can get by on being pure action. I wish I knew more about the game on a whole.

Trailer:

Title: Curvemania

Genre: Arcade

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: Your job is to survive in the arena for as long as possible. Play to get the high score or see how long your friends can survive in local co-op.

Opinion: Weird but interesting, not sure where I stand on this game.

Trailer:

Title: Super Black: The Game

Genre: Platformer, Shooter

Art Style: 2D Side Scroller Pixel

Synopsis: You play as KSI who wakes up to find his brother missing, and decides to do whatever it takes to find out what’s happened. There will be a lot of bullets flying.

Opinion: The game looks humorous and fun. Best of all it looks like it doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Trailer:

Title: Army of Pixels

Genre: Strategy

Art Style: 2D Side Scroller Pixel

Synopsis: Using lanes you must organize your army of pixel characters to attack the enemy lanes. But it won’t be an easy victory as diverse characters will be out on the battlefield ready for your army. The developers are planning to either release it for free or a small nominal fee.

Opinion: It looks fun, and could be worth it if the price is right.

Trailer:

Title: The Cloaks

Genre: RPG

Art Style: 2D Open World Top Down RPG Maker Engine

Synopsis: You’re a character in the world, exploring and fighting to find out whats happening in the world.

Opinion: The greenlight page has very few details and almost none at all about the story itself. It’s a hard game to judge.

Trailer:

Title: Empire Building: Settleforge

Genre: Puzzle, Strategy, Simulation

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: You have been choosen to rebuild kingdom that was once a might place to live. It won’t be easy, as you have to deal with puzzles in order to best layout the kingdom you want.

Opinion: It looks cool. I’m hoping it doesn’t fall into the same duldrums that other city builders fall into after a while.

Trailer:

Title: Formula C

Genre: Racing

Art Style: 3D Third Person Race Tracks

Synopsis: Designed around racing in virtual reality with head sets like Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.

Opinion: It looks cool and fun, but I’m kind of turned off by it being designed around VR.

Trailer:

Title: 50 Years

Genre: Strategy

Art Style: 2D Top Down

Synopsis: Designed as a simple turn based strategy game that won’t take up all of your time like say Civilization.

Opinion: It has a very simplistic look, very early Atari like. Seems like it could be perfect for those that don’t want to invest a lot of time into a game.

Trailer:

Title: Mind-Mecca

Genre: Adventure

Art Style: 2D Monochrome

Synopsis: A game about reflexing and contemplation. You wake up in a cell, and through patience and puzzles, you must find your way out to explore what’s going on.

Opinion: Mind games are always interesting ideas, and its only using two colors which puts it on the very odd spectrum.

Trailer:

Title: Deathcrank

Genre: Racing, Arcade

Art Style: 3D Top Down

Synopsis: Battle against other cars in an arena brawling action.

Opinion: It is right now only local co-op, but online is planned. Other than that looks like ridiculous fun.

Trailer:

Title: The Cooking Game

Genre: Simulation

Art Style: 2D Screen

Synopsis: You are in charge of the kitchen in a restaurant and must make all the orders of your guests.

Opinion: There are quite a few cooking games out there these days, and I didn’t see much that separated this game from the rest.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this Greenlight listing. If this listing seemed short, its because there seemed to be a lot of games on the cusp or not quite ready for Greenlight in my opinion. I had to make a call on what to include and what not to, and often I decided not to this time around. If you have comments, criticisms, questions, corrections, or just want to say something in general, please leave it in the section below. Or you can contact me on twitter @snipehockey. Thanks again.
