Activision Blizzard, the company behind Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, is reviving an old brand name. One that became a part of the company when, Vevendi the owners, merged with Activision. The company? Sierra ON-line, now just Sierra, a developer and publisher who have a multitude of games under their belt. From point and click adventures like the King’s Quest series to helping publish Half-Life with Valve.
What does all of this mean? Well not much. Sierra transitioned to being a publisher in the late-90’s to 2008 when their last game came out. It’s hard to know which of the intellectual properties Activision Blizzard still own. Really this could be a re-branding similar to the one that Atari went through a couple of years ago.
People will have to wait until Gamescom in Germany on August 13th to the 17th 2014.
All there is to see is a spiffy remade logo on Sierra.com
